My career in banking and finance has been rooted in Portland since 1985, when I started working on the "frontline" as a teller for Far West Federal Bank. I ended up managing the Lake Oswego branch and eventually moved on to specialize in mortgage financing in 1993. Having targeted the securing of home loans for first-time buyers during my initial 10 years as a mortgage banker and then broker, I opened my own firm in 2002 to put more emphasis on education as a key piece of my clients' home ownership and financing experience.

In 2007, I became a Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist, completing a rigorous series of studies and exams that expanded my knowledge of the impact of taking on a mortgage for both personal (primary residential) and investment purposes. In May 2009, I joined Mortgage Trust, where I thrive at helping my clients see the simplicity (or complexity) of their financial positions and take the optimal steps toward achieving their goals. I personally invest in and manage rental real estate to insure that the counsel I extend to my clients comes from a firsthand perspective.

I live in the heart of the Willamette Valley, with my two teenagers, one old cat, six chickens, and a rooster. My kids and I love to cook together, garden together, and explore the Pacific Northwest and, someday, the world. We are involved in the region with community activities, and I am a former member of the Woodburn Rotary, Chamber of Commerce, and Toastmasters. I'm also a summer art-faire junkie, a freelance financial advice writer, and a lifetime addict to learning.
