Once again we gathered to celebrate the holiday season, this year with many new faces. The Westin was our venue for drinks, dinner and a return of the gift auction. Little did we know it would be only days before our city would be inundated by record snowfall.

Our third-annual charity event to benefit Doernbecher Children's Hospital was again a huge success. More than 160 clients, professional partners, employees and their families donated 455 toys and $720 in gift cards. Huber's donated and served their famous Spanish coffees, Marsee Bakery donated some delicious deserts and Moments Notice kept the crowd entertained with complimentary jazz.

On First Thursday, Mortgage Trust opened it's newest office in the heart of the Pearl District on the southwest corner of 11th and Glisan. For our annual employee event we chose a bus adventure through three beautiful Yamhill County wineries. We visited Domaine Serene, where we had lunch, then Erath and finally Ponzi.

Resident loan consultant Scott Breeden also happens to be a racing crew chief and he saw to it that Mortgage Trust made a debut at PIR. With good friend Matt Crandell at the wheel and with a sponsorship from Fluge Global Adventures the team and their 2006 Panoz GTS have made a very strong showing during the 2007 SCCA Road Race Series.

This year we retired our famous Cinco de Mayo event in favor of an end-of-tax-season celebration. There was comfort food, seasonal drinks, local music and chair massages. It looks as though a good time was had by adults and tax-deductible dependents alike.
